Giveaway over at Elaine's.

Soggy Bottom Flats (don't you love that name?) is doing a giveaway over on her blog.  It's a kit for wool applique and if you've never tried wool before, now might be a chance to do it.

I've never really worked with wool in applique.  I tend to use my old blankets as batting for quilts, especially small ones for children, as I don't like using polyester for kids and because the quilt is small, it doesn't get too heavy.

But seeing some of the lovely wool work that Elaine does, I might just have to give wool a try!

  1. Hi! I found your blog through a comment you left over at '365 Days of Free Motion Quilting'.
I've enjoyed browsing around your blog, and it occurred to me that you might love a blog i'm following:
    http://chickensintheroad.com
She lives in West Virginia, US
and she homesteads (like you, i think). She has chickens, goats, chickens, sheep, chickens, donkeys, chickens, a milk cow, and... did i mention chickens? :)
She also makes candles, cheese, and all sorts of stuff. And her recipe section is the BEST!
Check her out! She updates everyday, and i never miss a day.
I think you'll love her site too.

    But don't say i didn't warn you!
    =-)

  2. Hi Wendy, Thanks for stopping by. I've found Suzanne and Chickens in the Road already (and she certainly has chickens!) and it's a worthwhile read. She's funny! And you're right, the best recipes - except I do a bit of converting into kiwi ingredients (like what the heck is corn syrup, anyway?!)
